On our podcast this time, Fr. John and Danny reflect on Genesis 1–2, showing that creation was intentionally left unfinished, “in statu viae,” journeying toward perfection. Chaos elements like darkness, the deep, and formless earth are not evil themselves but become symbols of evil, giving moral conflict a face through imagery like Leviathan, dragons, or vampires. Humanity, like Adam and Eve, must freely choose to resist evil, journeying with God’s providence until the consummation of a new heaven and earth where chaos is no more.
